Short answer: Knowledge is where you give your assistant material it can draw on beyond what you have written yourself — documents you upload, and a live product feed if you have one.
Documents #
Upload PDFs, Markdown or text files and the assistant can answer from them alongside everything else it knows.
What belongs here is reference material that is already written down and too long to retype: rate cards, service descriptions, scope documents, standard terms, specifications.
What does not belong here is anything confidential. Whatever you upload can be quoted to a visitor — that is the point of uploading it. Internal pricing floors, margins, notes about particular clients: none of that should go in.
A file is available to the assistant once it shows as ready.
Product feed #
If your offering changes often — stock, availability, prices that move — a document goes stale the moment you upload it. A feed does not.
Connect a JSON feed and the assistant answers from live items, and stops mentioning them when they disappear from the feed. You tell ReqMe where to look inside your JSON: which path holds the items, and which fields hold the name, description and price. If your feed needs authentication, you can supply a token; it is stored encrypted and never shown back to you.
This suits anyone whose catalogue is already published somewhere machine-readable. If your services are stable, documents are simpler and enough.
